Human smugglers are continuously improving their methods, actively promoting the Eastern Land Route on social media platforms, where they offer their services. In chat groups for migrants human smugglers advertise their ability to obtain necessary documents, such as a confirmation of admission to a Russian university or a student visa. Additionally, private WhatsApp, Facebook, or Telegram groups contain advertisements offering jobs for drivers to transport migrants across the border. Typically, citizens of third countries with EU residence permits provide such transportation for migrants.
